Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an excellent opportunity for an experienced PA on a 2 month contract with a possibility of an extension. They would like someone who has the experience and knowledge in the following:

Purpose of the role -

To provide temporary cover as a personal assistant to support the Head of Service and/or nominees as when required, to be proactive and undertake comprehensive management of appointments / conferences and deal with a high volume of enquiries on a day to day basis. To carry out a wide range of high level professional, confidential, efficient and effective secretarial/administrative duties to support the Head/s of Service in undertaking their role

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience -

  • Must have worked in a previous role as PA for the Local Authority
  • Ability to organise, plan and prioritise work including ability to respond quickly to urgent matters and to meet deadline.
  • Both written and verbal communication skills with all levels of staff, service users, elected members
  • Ability to work accurately, efficiently, methodically and in a timely manner, demonstrating effective self management, organisation and administrative skills.
  • Experience of working as a Personal Assistant or similar, supporting Senior Managers
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Good organisational Skills
  • Good verbal and written Skills
  • Excellent organisational skills able to manage a complex and varied workload to and to prioritise work and meet deadlines and timescales.
  • Minuting of meetings
  • Ability to use Microsoft packages, in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to act on personal initiative and take decisions within agreed guidelines
  • Report writing and IT skills
  • Good observation skills and an eye for detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work accurately and methodically demonstrating organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Previous experience of admin/secretarial PA work
  • Able to consistently produce work of a high standard
  • Ability to work as part of a small team and on own initiative
