Outreach Worker - Assessment and Reconnection

Our client provides a street outreach service working with rough sleepers across the South Essex region. They are now seeking a dynamic individual who can motivate and inspire others, to join their team in establishing this new and innovative outreach service.
In this new service you will be responsible for conducting outreach work with partner agencies and co-workers; to verify new rough sleepers, to enact the No Second Night Out model and engage with people sleeping rough.
Your role will also include using assertive interventions, carrying out comprehensive needs assessments and quickly formulating and implementing reconnection plans. By ascertaining people's local connections and liaising with external agencies and local authorities, you will be able to support and advice people on their best alternatives to sleeping rough.
To succeed, you will have personal experience or an understanding of the issues involved, in resettling street homeless people. You should also possess the drive and commitment to helping vulnerable people to make positive changes in their lives. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a busy fast paced environment, are also essential.
The role will require you to travel to various locations and to work a mixed shift rota including early mornings, late nights and weekends.
