Location: Sidmouth (pending relocation to Honiton) and Exmouth.

About the role

The busy role provides essential day to day support for our Organisational Development service and in particular the Human Resource processes for the Council. You will play a key role in ensuring that recruitment administration is managed confidentially, effectively and proactively through supporting the Strategic Leads, HR Business Partners, HR Officer and managers of the organisation.

This position covers a wide range of HR administration from issuing employment contracts, calculating holiday entitlements, carrying out employment checks and administering health checks for new starters. You’ll also get involved in supporting administration processes relating to learning and development, work experience and our service recognition scheme. You will also provide HR administration support to our external IT supplier.

About you

Working as part of a team you will be comfortable in using your outstanding IT skills and your initiative to resolve queries and problems and improve processes to make them more efficient and streamlined. You will be expected to work to deadlines and juggle a busy workload with competing deadlines.

East Devon District Council has decided to relocate away from its current headquarters in Sidmouth. This position will be based at Sidmouth until new offices in Honiton become operational during the latter part of 2018.
