An award winning electricity distribution network which provides the highest quality of service and receives the Government’s Charter Mark scheme accolade every year is seeking an Operator (fitter) to join its team based in Exeter.
In this role you will be required to work for a national utilities employer who provides full training (classroom and field based) to gain industry recognised qualifications/authorisations, along with a competitive starting salary from the outset and continuous support along the way.
As an Operator/Fitter you will be part of the South West Projects Team, and will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the 132kV system and major construction schemes across all voltages within South West.
Typical Operator/Fitter duties will include:
Assisting the Craftsperson with general site work associated with the repair, maintenance and construction of plant and switchgear up to 132kV. In addition, you will be required to undertake substation inspections.
To be successful in securing this role you will ideally have hands on, outdoors experience and have some basic electrical experience/knowledge.
This is a 37 hour a week position with overtime requirements. You must be able to work as part of a small team, making on the spot decisions as required and working to tight deadlines. You must also possess a full driving licence and live within a 30 minute radius of Exeter.
