- in the absence of the General Manager, assume overall responsibility for the day to day operations within The Crown Manor House Hotel

- to work with the General Manager and the Revenue Manager to maximise the revenue potential of the entire hotel’s inventory

- assist the General Manager to manage the team

- to assist and manage the Duty Managers

- ensure relevant departmental checklists are in place and completed

- assist the General Manager with the recruitment, selection and induction process

- to act as Duty Manager when required

- to manage the selling of the Conference and Wedding product and train other team members to assist in this task

- maintaining morale and enthusiasm

- training key members of the team

- ensuring food quality meets required standards by managing the kitchen team

- attain set service levels by managing all staff through the Duty Management team

- to deliver quarterly and in some cases annual targets and performance related pay

- to run duty manager meetings

- co-ordinate and resolve all maintenance issues working alongside the maintenance manager

- liaise with the Guest Relations department with regard to problem resolution

- attention to detail

- to ensure that all members of staff comply with policies and procedures implemented by the Company, and keep staff up-dated of any changes

- to help ensure the safety/security of the hotel by making sure that correct procedures are followed in the event of an emergency


- Work with the General Manager to ensure that rotas follow set guest to staff ratios and minimise costs

- to achieve a guest satisfaction feedback of satisfactory or above for problem resolution

- reduce costs across the business
