We are currently recruiting an Operations Manager for our well established client based in Stoke-On-Trent. They provide short and long term heating and cooling solutions for a variety of high end establishments.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations:

  • To oversee and assume responsibility for all key warehouse operational activities, co-ordination of work requirements against pre-planned and reactive demands. As certain resource requirements and co-ordinate resources (eg. flow of work, labour, equipment, transportation)

  • Line management responsibility for team of service engineers, operatives and administrator, including absence management, performance management, training and development and workforce planning.

  • Overseeing stock movement, stock control and ensuring systems and processes are adhered to.

  • Ensure work flow is structured, encouraging team members to be accountable for the safe use, care and movement of equipment. Setting standards of best practice and good housekeeping to promote orderly, safe and efficient work methods.

  • Overall responsibility for health and safety and compliance with relevant legislative obligations and best practice.Implement safe systems of work, use of PPE and safety checks in conjunction with QHSE Officer. Follow due process and procedures in reporting, recording and investigating incidents/accidents/non-conformance/loss and damages etc.

  • Promote best practice through adherence to company policies and procedures, timely and appropriate completion of paper based and electronic recording systems.

  • Actively line manage team members, leading by example in respect of managing and allocating workloads, standards of work, attention to detail, commercial awareness and good communication.

  • Responding to changing demands in a positive and resilient manner to encourage and motivate the team.

  • Effective communication with wider team (eg. Directors, QHSE Officer, HR Manager, Administration team).

  • Co-ordinate the purchasing and despatch of items and equipment, liaison with suppliers, ensuring the goods in/out process is organised and efficient.

  • Liaison with external service providers, eg. waste oil, pest control, emergency equipment suppliers etc to ensure that activities are scheduled, actioned and monitored accordingly, in accordance with QHSE Officer.

  • Ensure that arrangements for transportation of equipment are in place both at Acclimatise premises and for the appropriate site. Ensure provision for additional plant hire or transportation support is put in place and effectively co-ordinated.

  • Data entry onto SAP system and upkeep of manual and electronic records as necessary.

Rental Site Operations:

  • Overall responsibility for site operations, ensuring that all resources are in place to deliver work activities on time, on budget (eg. equipment, labour, accommodation and transport).

  • Work closely with all departments throughout the duration of contracts to ensure all work activities are underway, relevant equipment is in place and fit for purpose. Communicate any changes in schedule and respond to queries raised by liaising with relevant parties (internally and externally) in a timely manner. Ensure activities and updates are recorded and monitored.

  • Oversee the maintenance of the activities record "Planner" ensuring all contracts are recorded and updated to reflect any changes in work schedules and personnel, including management of the "On-Call" rota.

  • Oversee adherence to company processes to ensure that procedural requirements are followed and completion of documentation is adhered to.

  • Monitor and review each contract to ensure activities are running smoothly, meeting the needs of the client and are commercially viable.

Generic Duties:

  • To work flexibly to meet the needs of the business.
  • To undertake ad-hoc tasks and projects as requested.
  • To support other colleagues and assist with additional duties as required.
  • Undertake personal development opportunities as appropriate.
  • To adhere to health and safety at all times and to report any incidents/accidents/near misses and potential hazards.
  • May be nominated to be a First Aider/Fire Marshall/Health & Safety Representative and offer support and assistance in such situations as they arise.
