Operation Manager (Medical Components)
Summary of role and responsibilities:
Oversee of Delivering a World Class manufacturing service to all customers, through effective KPI and process development, including implementation and measurement of the same.
To manage the efficient manufacture of company moulded products and assemblies to company standards and specifications.
To plan and manage the physical and human resources required for Production and Logistics.
Control the manufacturing process in full, and produce associated documents and records.
Planning the production of moulded parts and assemblies for company stock requirements
Scheduling batch manufacture and assembly
Control of batch numbering
Stock control of raw materials and consumables
Develop and implement improvements to manufacturing practice:
Prepare /update work instructions, company procedures and associated documentation
Agree proposals with Directors/ Managers and collaborate with affected parties to achieve effective implementation
Review affected process after implementation and resolve any issues arising
Report to the Directors on moulded product manufacture and assemblies, quality issues and measures to control production costs
Manage all Logistics activities.
Improve the efficiency of the factory by improving systems and methods and by investing in suitable plant and equipment
Ensuring that there is transparent and supportive communication between the factory and sales/marketing organisations
Control of stocks for the relevant product ranges
Training and development of manufacturing staff:
Control of job descriptions
Resolution of any disciplinary or grievance requirements in accordance with company policies
Manage training of all production staff
Conduct appraisals in accordance with company policy and contribute to pay reviews for staff
Maintenance of manufacturing facilities:
Scheduling plant maintenance
Scheduling machine and equipment maintenance
Managing breakdowns and repairs
Control of mould tool maintenance and repairs, liaising with external parties/ suppliers as necessary
Maintain cleanliness within controlled environments, including biocidal requirements Ensure compliance with statutory requirements e.g. fire equipment
Driving operational performance, supporting sales and developing improved gross margin and profit performance, according to agreed short- and long-term plans and budgets Ops Manger
Regular nightshift communication, visits and training.
Liaise with HR on any staff issues.
Engage in GEM initiatives
Maintain a safe working environment at all times
Motivate the teams by setting the example
Skills and experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience of a similar role
Excellent people management skills
Knowledge of BS EN ISO 9001 and GMP standards
Awareness of BS EN ISO 14644 clean room requirements
Good organisational skills

Commitment to the protection of the environment and targeting zero environmental incidents.
Obey safety rules, follow EHS policies and work in a safe manner
Report any concerns, unsafe or hazardous situations immediately to direct managers
Engage and participate in health, safety and environmental programs
Understand and deliver solutions meeting the requirements of laboratory, bio-processing and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Delivering components of the highest quality and precision for high specification manufacturing operations.
