My Bristol based client is a market leading manufacturer of special purpose machinery used in both the automotive and aeronautical industries. Their products are manufactured on site in Bristol and are distributed worldwide, with their main markets being the UK, Europe, USA, China and Mexico.
My client is looking to appoint an Operations Manager to join their management team to provide operational duties working alongside, and when required assisting other managers. The role is a proactive, hands on role requiring drive and good judgement. The position is ideal for someone who has previously worked in an Engineering related Operations Management position or alternatively someone who is looking to grow their career.
To manage as a part of a team to effectively provide on-time delivery of company products and services ensuring customer satisfaction, sustainable quality and achieving planned revenue and profits whilst ensuring all operations run smoothly.
The Successful Candidate Will:
*Report directly to the Managing Director
*Actively implementing improvements to allow substantial company growth
*The day to day operations of the company not covered by other managers
*Cost control and profit management
*Establish and maintain effective measures and controls of performance to ensure customer service and customer satisfaction is achieved in accordance with our objectives
*Establish and maintain effective measures and controls of performance to ensure supply chain performance meets the companies' requirements
*Establish and maintain effective measures and controls of performance to ensure projects
*are completed effectively and capacities known
*Establish and maintain effective measures and controls of performance to ensure the company operates to the highest standards in line with its Quality System
*Management and continual improvement of company Quality System and processes
*Responsibility of the day to day operation to the Quality System and processes
*Comply with statutory and legal health & safety requirements ensuring the team are aware of, and working in accordance with these requirements
*To ensure HR procedures and policies are carried out in each department
*To proactively and effectively assess competencies and develop subordinates.
*Good management of both mechanical and controls staff
*Passion and competence in advanced engineering and technology
*A positive attitude with high level of commitment to challenges
*The desire to meet time and budget targets and customer quality expectations.
*Problem solving and coaching
*Knowledge and appreciation of PLC & HMI programs would be an advantage
*Experience in 2D & 3D CAD
Qualified in mechanical engineering and management to degree level or commensurate experience.
