The company manufactures cleaning, correction and protection products for the car care and detailing markets, along with industrial blends and timber / wood treatments. Due to re-structuring and growth, they now require a motivated individual to join the team as an Operations Manager in what is a new, but pivotal role. The company has seen continued growth over recent years, and also substantial investment into the site. The main responsibility of this role will be to organise and manage the production side of the business. Flexibility with working hours would be required especially during busy periods, new projects, periods of change or implementation of new systems. The successful candidate will report to the Directors of the business, and work alongside the Office Manager and Technical Manager to ensure smooth day to day operation of the business, and a salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
is on offer, depending on experience. Benefits include pension, 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays rising with service, and an early finish on a Friday.
As an Operations Manager, the main responsibilities of your role will be:
·Management and planning of day-to-day production activities for over 10 members of production personnel, ensuring safe and efficient work methods are being adhered to at all times
·Analysing output and key statistics of the operation of the business
·Ensuring schedules and customer requirements are met
·Planning and controlling system and production method change within the business
·Managing and implementing improvements to quality assurance programmes (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 18001), along with IMS (integrated management system)
·Writing and managing staff training documents along with COSHH and Risk Assessments
·Assisting Directors to research and implement new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency in production
·Overseeing inventory / stock control of all elements of production (raw materials and finished goods), along with distribution of goods and facility layout
·Final quality check of goods before dispatch
·Establish systems and trouble-shoot once trained
As an Operations Manager, you will have the following skills and experience:
·Have strong experience in a similar managerial role within a small to medium sized manufacturing company
·Motivational and enthusiastic while able to be authoritative and firm where necessary
·Have a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office, with a strength in Excel and IMS
·Embrace change, and enjoy implementing new procedures and systems
·Demonstrate high standards of professionalism
·Excellent organisational skills and be able to multi-task
·Able to use initiative and not be afraid of making decisions
·5-S or 6-S methodology would be an advantage
·Familiarity with ISO 9001 / 14001 / 18001 beneficial
