The Butler Trust is a charity which promotes excellence in the criminal justice system. At the heart of its work are the Annual Awards, which recognise the achievements of outstanding staff and volunteers working in prison, probation, and community and youth justice settings. It also works closely with its Award recipients to enable them to develop their work further, as well as helping to spread good practice more widely across the sector. Prospectus is currently looking to recruit an Operations Coordinator on a part-time basis to join the Trust's small and experienced team.
This essential role will be responsible for providing broad office and administrative support to the Director, Operations Manager and various consultants in carrying out the Trust's work. This will include processing nominations, handling enquiries and correspondence relating to all aspects of the Annual Awards process, and helping to organise the Award Ceremony (which normally takes place at St James's Palace or Buckingham Palace during the month of March), as well as other occasional events. This person will also be responsible for making travel arrangements and booking accommodation for staff and consultants, helping the book-keeper to record and process finances, and other general office administration tasks.
The successful candidate will be a highly organised and efficient administrator with demonstrable office-based admin experience.Â This person will have the ability to organise and prioritise work to meet targets and deadlines with initiative and minimal supervision, sometimes working alone. The successful candidate will be helpful and flexible, with a sharp eye for detail. Strong IT skills, particularly in Word and Excel, will be important, as will an open and flexible approach to working within a small team.
This role is offered on a part-time basis, 25 hours per week, to be worked over 4 or 5 days.
