Our public sector client based in Durham have an exciting opportunity for a Operational Support Assistant to join their busy team.
Hours full Time 8.30am-5pm
Pay rate £8.05
Description of the role:
Responsible for working with a customer focussed Support Services team within regeneration of Local Services and work closely with technical Staff to ensure the team are providing quality back office support. Responsible for challenging new systems with an aim to eradicate paper and promote electronic data interchange/filing where possible.
A flexible approach must be adopted at all times and the ability to interchange between areas of work is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assisting in the development of procedural guidance notes and standard letters where appropriate for all functions within the service.
To work with a customer focused team approach.
Participate in team meetings and ensure effective and efficient channels of communication are facilitated.
Working with the team to improve the performance of payment invoices.
Working with colleagues in Business support
Working with the other Operational Support Assistants where required to ensure quality of service is provided to front line services and customers.
Scanning and filing electronically to utilise Multi Functional Devices.
Dealing with service requests, customer enquiries and give accurate advice to customers and service providers.
To carry out cash receipting as required and prepare income ready for banking.
5 GCSEs (Grade A-C) or equivalent including English and Maths
NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration
Experience of working in an Office environment
Proven ability to deal with the major change effectively
Experience in ICT systems
Experience in team working
An up to date knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and safe working practices
High level written and oral communication skill
Able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
A positive attitude committed to excellent customer service
A positive approach to service delivery
