Operational Risk & Governance is responsible for risk oversight of M&G, seeking to ensure that the company manages risks in accordance with the expectations of its clients, shareholder and regulators.  The team works closely with M&G Executive, Management across the Business and Prudential Group Head Office Risk.  

Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Risk Analyst to support the Operational Risk Analysis and Reporting Manager in developing reporting of key risk information and analytics for stakeholders, including M&G Group, Business Units, M&G Legal Entities, Prudential Group Head Office and other key stakeholders. The Risk Analysis and Reporting team will also be responsible for administration of the Operational Risk Systems, including liaison with key business stakeholders and Prudential Group Head Office.

Key Responsibilities

On a day to day basis you would be required to:

  • Develop and deliver regular and ad hoc risk reporting and analytics for M&G Group, Committees, Business Unit and M&G Legal Entities as required, to enable members to oversee the effectiveness of risk management.

  • Review and interpret information relating to key risk data and producing summarised tailored information and analytics; specifically in relation to:

    - Business and strategic risk and control data, including key risk information
    - Risk appetite data, including analysis of triggers and actions being taken
    - Incident information and analysis of trends
    - Action information and analysis of statuses
    - Controls self-certification reporting, including analysis of coverage and results
    - Operational risk scenario data and analysis
    - Emerging risk information

  • Develop and deliver regular and ad hoc reporting to Prudential Head Office, including Committee information and other requests for information.

  • Respond to reporting requests from external parties, including the PRA and FCA.

  • Provide support, training, and administration for risk systems, including liaison with other Prudential Business Units and Prudential Group Head Office.

  • Continuously seeking to improve the reporting and analysis of risk information, responding to requests and feedback from key stakeholders and reviewing industry best practice.

  • Attend relevant business meetings where requested.

  • Undertake a supervisory role providing support and guidance for more junior team members.

  • Liaise with other areas within M&G and across Prudential to assist in developing a co-ordinated approach to risk reporting (e.g. Compliance).

  • Build constructive and supportive working relationships with the wider risk team and other second line functions across the business.

What we are looking for

It is essential that you have strong analytical thinking and a critical evaluator of information/issues, excellent written and verbal communication skills to an Executive, Board and Committee level, client focused and forward looking, with the intention to add value, strong drive and delivery, committed to achieving results and delivering on time, a proactive team player, good at working with others, excellent influencing skills and the ability to build effective relationships along with senior management exposure. You should also have previous experience of analysing and reporting risk information for Executives, Boards and Committees, proven experience of operational risk within financial services, preferably within Asset Management business, experience of people management along with a relevant professional qualification (e.g. IRM Diploma in Risk Mgt, ACA, CIMA, ACCA, IIA).
