Job Summary

Care UK have a vacancy for an experienced Office Assistant to work at our Healthcare Head Office in Central Reading. This is a permanent position for 40 hours per week working 08.30-17.30 Monday - Friday. The remuneration is £20,000 per annum. Interviews for this position will be taking place on Friday 16th March 2018.

Key Responsibilities

The post holder will be the first point of contact at our at times busy reception desk for colleagues, clients and other visitors to the company and is part of the Chief Execuitive's Office. The Office Assistant will proactively ensure a smooth running of our day to day office functions and facilities of our administrative support office and will act as the responsible Health & Safety representative and Fire warden. The four key job functions of the role cover: • Reception service • Acts as Health, Safety & Environmental Representative (HSER) • Smooth running of day to day office functions and facilities • Administrative support within the Chief Executive’s Office Team


• GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at grade A–C.

ESSENTIAL • Relevant health and safety qualifications/training. • Working in a busy office coordination / reception function • Telephone switchboard • Ability to capture tasks agreed in meetings and format action notes, track and chase progress • Handling challenging callers, dealing with them sympathetically and assertively • Audio visual presentation devices and other equipment • Office Health & Safety representative • Good customer service skills and understanding of customers’ needs. • Good time management and prioritisation skills. • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills incl. POWERPOINT • Accuracy and attention to detail while working under pressure and remain professional and friendly at all times. • Source and recommend best practice to shape the service offering. DESIRABLE • First aid trained • Trained on audio visual presentation equipment • Project management experience • Facilities management experience • Managing suppliers • Working in an ever changing healthcare environment • Intranet content management experience
