Ocean Import Customer Services/Operator

Our client, an international multi modal freight forwarder is now seeking an Ocean Import Customer Services/Operator to join their team.

Purpose of the Job: To expedite inbound and cross trade movements on behalf of our clients in their interests whilst delivering strategic objectives of the group.

Duties:

  • Planning and arrangement of international consignments according to client instructions and requirements

  • Receiving of pre-advices and shipping documentation

  • Working with customer to provide all customs documentation on cross trade business

  • End to end monitoring of inbound and cross trade movements.

  • Opening of files and issuing notices of arrival for Sea, Air, Road & Courier shipments + Cross-Trades.

  • Issuing customs clearance instructions and ensuring 100% compliance with AEO and customs policy

  • Booking of FCL and LCL deliveries, inclusive of merchant haulages

  • Day to day invoicing and job costing

  • Follow up of purchase orders/shipments

  • Communication with overseas offices/partners

Experience/skills required:

  • Min 3 years sea freight experience

  • Excellent ICT skills to include Microsoft packages

  • Dangerous goods by sea would be advantageous
