Occupational Therapist

The Young People’s Unit provides intensive in patient assessment, care and treatment for North of Scotland adolescents within the age range of 12 to 18 years who suffer from major psychiatric disorders, which cannot be met within an outpatient or intensive outreach / home based treatment service. We offer a broad range of therapeutic interventions, including individual group and family work. This service is provided in a new purpose built regional North of Scotland unit on the CAMHS site at 17 Dudhope Terrace, Dundee it has been operational since spring 2015 there are 12 inpatients beds available.

The postholder will work as part of the Allied Health Professions group within the Young People’s Unit supported by the wider multidisciplinary team. The role requires working autonomously whilst taking a lead role to manage a caseload of patients to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. The postholder will use occupation as an assessment and therapeutic tools to enable young people to achieve their optimum level of independence based on best practice guidelines while also maintaining dignity and promoting recovery for each individual.
