An exciting opportunity has arisen for suitably skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join the mental health Occupational Therapy service in Fife. The post is within the adult mental health service working primarily within the community and ward settings. Although this post is based at Stratheden, the mental health occupational therapy service is a Fife wide service and you may be required to work on different sites.

You will be responsible for supporting the band 6 and 7 Occupational Therapist in developing the service in line with national strategies and drivers. You will also be responsible for a caseload of patients ensuring they receive specialist occupational therapy assessments from the National baseline assessment toolkit as well as evidence based interventions. You will be responsible for providing an effective service to patients which is evidence based and is of a high standard and quality. You will be expected to work autonomously being able to manage and prioritise the many clinical and non clinical demands placed on them. You will also be responsible for the delegation and supervision of work to junior staff and Technical Healthcare support workers. You will also be Practice Placement Educator and be responsible for the supervision of students in the team.

You will have completed NES Flying start programme for new graduates and will have achieved the first gateway of the KSF (TURAS) process.

This is supported by a College of Occupational Therapist endorsed clinical supervision training programme and the AHP Mental Health Advanced Practitioner Framework, all of which are recorded and reviewed through the Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) - now TURAS. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who will continue to build on the success and developments of the previous postholder and have experience of working within a mental health setting or with patients with mental health problems
