I am actively recruiting an Occupational Therapist with a passion for working with vulnerable children with highly complex needs and SEMH. This role will start in the new academic year on a full-time basis.
Occupational Therapist band 6/7
Location: Stratford and Acton sites
SEND school for ASC, Complex Needs, SEMH, ages 7-18
Role to start as soon as possible
Competitive salary - £36,000 p/a - £43,000
Overseas trained or newly qualified OTs with relevant experience are encouraged to apply!
Must be HCPC registered (or pending)
Ability to engage children with SEND is essential
About the role of Occupational Therapist:
The whole purpose of a school based Occupational Therapist is to help children succeed. As an OT based in this highly complex setting, you will look at the whole child, tackling individual tasks, helping students find ways to do the things they need and want to do. You will liaise closely with the multi-disciplinary clinical team to provide an intensive treatment service. You will engage the children and young people within the school in innovative, helpful therapeutic and meaningful activity, supporting them in learning and reaching their full potential.
Requirements for Occupational Therapist:
For this Occupational Therapist opportunity, you will need to hold a recognised Occupational Therapy degree, HCPC registered and a registered member of the British College of Occupational Therapists. You will need solid experience to include working with highly vulnerable children, pupils at risk of exploitation, gang related issues, violent and aggressive behaviour, substance misuse, school phobic, highly disengaged pupils and anxiety disorders. Relevant and transferable experience will be considered.
