Our client one of the UK’s leading care and social car providers in the UK are seeking an accomplished Occupational Therapist to assist in the consolidation and establishment of practices and processes surrounding OT to assist in the development of new homes when built. With nearly 30 years’ experience and more than 200 care homes including independent hospitals they are certainly one of the UK’s foremost care providers.

Naturally as an Occupational Therapist you will be expected to provide an environment that is conducive to the needs of the patient, ensuring that they are treated with dignity and respect. The mission is simple, you will be focused on a need required Occupational Therapy offering, dealing with the patient’s individual requirements as well as wishes and aspirations. You must possess a Degree in Occupational Therapy, experience of working in a Mental Health environment would be beneficial but not essential.

Our client is focused on improving the quality of life for people in their care, you will be required to develop and implement treatment programmes in liaison with other disciplines with an emphasis on multi-disciplinary teamwork. Alongside this you must regularly monitor and evaluate the OT service provided and maintain up to date professional clinical records inline with legal requirements. You must also assess programmes on a clinical needs-based requirement. You will take part in the Occupational Therapy Student placement training and will provide assessment of staff competence. As this is a senior position you will be responsible for the management and clinical supervision of all Occupational Therapy Assistants. You must also ensure staff follow agreed policies and procedures within the Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
