Location/Base: London

Hours/Working Pattern: Full Time, 37.5 hours

Type: Contract

Pay Rate: £13.00 to £17.00 per hour paye plus holiday or £14.95 to £19.55 per hour umbrella depending on skill and experience

Job Purpose

The overall purpose of the role is to be part of the occupational health team at a leading trust and their external contacts.

Main Duties

  • Demonstrates competent clinical practice and ensures compliance with Trust policies and related legislation.
  • Promotes and maintains high standards of health and safety whist carrying out clinical practice.
  • Maintains confidentiality
  • Promotes and participates in occupational health initiatives.
  • Able to safely administer vaccinations and provide comprehensive advice around occupational immunisations and provide travel advice where necessary.
  • Regularly undertakes the role of 'duty calls nurse’. Providing advice on work related health matters, manage contact tracing incident’s and safely assesses blood contamination incidents, needle stick injuries and administers prophylactic treatment where necessary.
  • Provides professional advice based on evidence-based practice to the Trust, clients, managers and external clients.
  • Participates in health promotion activities both local and national.
  • Undertake health surveillance programmes where indicated for the Trust staff or where agreed as part of Service Level Agreements for external Business Clients

Communications

The post holder must be able to communicate effectively whilst delivering high standards of care to a number of stakeholders. The post holder will be able to utilise a variety of strategies to communicate effectively with staff at all levels as well as external organisations and the public.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse Adult/Registered General Nurse
  • Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse(Occupational Health)
  • At least five years post registration experience
  • Immunisation update training

Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience of working in an occupational health setting NHS/private
  • Experience of Occupational Health case management
  • Use of OH Databases
