Location: Bases in the UAE, but required to travel to Bahrain, Oman & Afghanistan

Core Responsibiliries & Duties:

  • Successful day to day management of all planned and preventative maintenance within the defined areas and within the allocated budgets.

  • On site Health and Safety ensuring that all plant and services are operated safely, efficiently and economically and that all operations are undertaken in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and KBR H&S Procedures. Ensure acceptance of AP duties relating to all works.

  • Ensure that there are sufficient Authorised Persons in theatre at all times to cover all the required disciplines.

  • Responsible for the effective and efficient management and control of all directly employed labour and contractors providing a service to the establishment.

  • Check, sign and approve all purchase requisitions and orders raised by the Site Leads in relation to all Response and Remedial Maintenance.

  • Ensure that all work carried out within their responsibility is performed in accordance with all statutory requirements, is of a high standard in line with the DIO requirements and policies, and ensures the best value for money.

  • Manage an effective service to meet breakdowns and works of an urgent nature both in and outside working hours.

  • Provide appropriate reports and programmes of building and engineering maintenance for the Facility Manager so that priorities can be determined.

  • Operate the necessary management systems to ensure performance monitoring and financial control is maintained.

  • Ensures the necessary training of staff in supervision, management and technical matters.

  • Deputise for the Contract Delivery Manager in their absence for all Hard FM contractual matters.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • The O&M Manager must have extensive and thorough understanding of DIO standards and safe systems of work.

  • The O&M Manager should be an experienced engineering Manager. They should be appointed as a MOD Authorised person with a valid AP certificate in at least one discipline.

  • He should be of professional status with a minimum of 5 years experience in operation and maintenance of facilities within the MOD estate.

  • The O&M Manager supports the Contract Delivery Manager and his Deputy with on-site interface with the Authorities representatives.

  • Responsibility for delivering all aspects of Operation and Maintenance within the bounds of the existing contract.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Works Act.

  • Commitment of KBR resources deployed to meet contractual requirements.

  • Responsible for the performance and conduct of staff under their area of responsibility

  • Responsible for the training and welfare of staff.

  • Provide price quotations for specific capabilities as required by the Contract Delivery Manager.
