Working in partnership with CER, my client are the leading provider of early education and preschools along with employer-sponsored child care, back-up care, educational advisory services and other work/life solutions.

I am currently recruiting for a Nursery nurse on behalf of my client based out of there Kirkby Nursery.

Job Purpose

The Nursery Nurse (NN) is a key carer for a specific group of children responsible for delivering exceptional care and education for children. The NN works within a team to ensure the nursery is compliant in all areas with an ultimate goal of going for Gold . The role of the NN is to support childrens development in partnership with parents, through observing, planning for next steps and evaluating. A NN has the responsibility of building strong partnerships with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure every child has an individual plan unique and aligned to their own needs and interests. This role requires working in collaboration with others and taking responsibility for working in line with regulatory requirements.

  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions including all mandatory training for continuous Professional Development
  • Drive own development through active participation in appraisals, one to ones and requesting supervisions where required
  • Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers, taking a BOLD approach to stand out amongst competitors.
  • Use reflection to proactively take on board new ideas and initiatives including feedback from external professionals to enhance the nursery

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications-

  • A full and relevant Level 2 qualification.

Desired Qualifications-

  • A full and relevant Level 3 qualification
  • A university Degree
  • First aid 12-hour paediatric qualification
  • A good record of on-going training and/or other relevant qualifications

Essential Experience-

  • Experience working in an early year setting

Desired Experience-

  • Experience in any role, which includes face to face work directly with children, within an early years context.
  • Experience working with babies either in a professional home base or early years provision.

Essential Knowledge-

  • Understand issues around child development to support all children including children with disabilities.Â
  • Good knowledge of the Revised Early Years Foundation Stage (Curriculum frameworks) and Welfare Requirements.Â
  • An understanding of your role in keeping everyone safe and how to apply child protection procedures.
  • Able to work in partnership with parents and other professionals.
  • Understand the importance of and fulfil the role of a key person.
  • Understand the importance of ensuring equality and diversity in a nursery setting.
  • Understanding what is important in determining high quality care and learning for young children.Â
  • Understand and support childrens transitions.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and its importance in the early years setting Knowledge.

Desired Knowledge-

  • A basic understanding of wider legislative requirements for working with children

  • Able to have empathy and an ability to understand a childs view Show resilience and determination to succeed in the face of pressure and difficulties.
