Nursery Nurse needed in Ruislip

This nursery situated in Ruislip is looking for a Nursery Nurse to join their Pre-School team. The nursery is operational throughout the year, closing for the Bank Holidays and Christmas break. They are open Monday - Friday 07:30 - 18:00 and cater for up to 70 children.

The setting is within a large purpose built building and is all on the ground floor with three separate rooms for each age group; 2 months - 2 years, 2 to 3 years, 3 to 5 years. All rooms are well equipped with age appropriate resources enabling the practitioners to provide a variety of fun and exciting learning opportunities to a high standard. The setting boasts a large outdoor space where all three age groups have their own direct access and the garden has various age appropriate resources for the children to explore. The children have the opportunity to take part in a variety of extracurricular activities on a weekly basis.

The position will be working within the Pre-School Room with children aged 3 - 5 years old within a team of 3 members of staff, ensuring that the Pre-School Room is run to a high standard. You will be responsible for 8 Key Children and you will need to monitor their progress in line with the EYFS. The Pre-School Room is a large space where the children have access to resources which they are encouraged to choose independently developing their individual interests. As well as developing the children’s learning you will also be developing the children’s independence through self-service and promoting a high standard of hygiene awareness ready for School.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with the children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum at all times
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Attending parents evening and staff meetings
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Working well within a team
  • Developing the children’s sensory exploration through sand, water and messy play activities
  • Using effective teaching to a high standard to develop their early phonics knowledge
  • Developing the children’s fine and gross motor skills; holding writing tools, jumping, early computer skills
  • Supporting the children at meal times and encouraging self-service
  • Promoting British Values in the children’s everyday environment
  • Introducing the children cultures and festivals from around the world

All candidates must have:

  • Have a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Childcare
  • At least 1 years relevant recent experience within an Early Years setting working with the under fives
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Great communication skills
  • The ability to work within a large team
  • Have a passion for working with children under five
