Job - Nursery Nurse
A job has become available in a large, busy private day nursery on the outskirts of Cardiff. The nursery is currently looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic, people-person to assist with the day-to-day running of the nursery as a Nursery Nurse. The nursery caters for 30-40 children, is very well established and well-resourced and is based in an area that is very easy to access either by car or public transport.
Your responsibilities will include working alongside other staff members under a strong leadership team to ensure the smooth day to day running of the nursery. You will be responsible for ensuring that the children feel safe and stimulated, undertaking activities to help them to reach developmental milestones in line with the Foundation Phase principal of learn through play. You will also work alongside other staff to undertake the collective responsibility of ensuring that all policies surrounding child protection/health and safety are adhered to, along with all other policies upheld by the nursery.
Contract until January 2019 and likely to become permanent, 35-40 hours per week at £8.41 per hour
You will need to be have;
A Nursery Nurse qualification (to a minimum of level 2 or above/equivalent)
Proven and relevant experience in working with children in a similar environment Good knowledge of Early Years Development/Education and the principals of the Foundation Phase
Willingness to undertake any necessary training.
The ability to work as part of a team to ensure tasks are effectively completed, and to take direction from the Manager/Senior staff members, as well as the ability to work on initiative A genuinely passion for working with young children, with an enthusiastic and positive manner A dedicated and committed work ethic
