This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the national service for aHUS and National Renal Complement Therapeutic Centre. Newcastle Hospitals has been appointed to be the centre for the national service to coordinate care for patients with atypical Haemolytic Uraemic Syndrome (aHUS) – This will be under the care of adult and paediatric Nephrologists.
Band 7 Sister / Charge Nurse will be responsible for the nursing coordination within this national service. Patients across the country will be referred into this service for the specialist management and coordination of their care. The nursing roles will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring and nursing care. There will be a requirement to develop professional relationships with other health care organisations and teams nationally and a need to develop communication and networks for the management of these patients. The post holder (s) will be responsible for maintaining good records and data collection for these patients. There will also be a requirement to offer a high level of support to patients, families and other healthcare professionals involved within this service
This vacancy is for 1.0 Whole Time Equivalent but applications are welcomed from those wishing to work full time or part time hours.
