NPD/Process Development Technologist

Our client is an ambitious and dynamic family run business. A leading provider in bringing World Foods and flavours to our kitchens at home, they have grown from strength to strength due to their forward thinking, talented team based in Manchester. A talented Product Development Technologist is needed to join the team, to ensure successful NPD launches from kitchen to factory, on time, to specification and budget. Attending daily taste panels, you will be responsible for sample requests and collating technical data from trials. The successful candidate will have 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.

The Role:

• Manage the setting up and all maintenance of all new product recipes
• Liaison with all stakeholders over preparation, documentation and planning for all product launches including 'Go Factory’ meetings
• Manage the issues of paperwork to factory, including document control records on time for production
• Liaise with stock control to ensure all raw materials are available in factory trials, validate and check data on NPI’s and specifications
• Creating cooking instruction recommendations and carry out verifications
• To be present at all first productions internally and externally
• Creating product attribute sheets, including photographs on all new products
• Attending daily taste panels to ensure previous days’ production matches attributes required
• Attending daily morning productions meetings/Running daily NPD flash meetings to communicate any post production findings
• Packaging and art work sign off, communication feedback from team to customer
• Assisting with food labelling and backup assistance to specifications manager as appropriate
• Communicating any recipe changes, or detailed product updates to wider team
• Sending off micro analysis and nutrition samples and tracking for budgets
• Ensuring NPD projects fulfil requirements of BRC standard
• Carry out sodium analysis of NPD samples/analysis of theoretical nutrition of NPD recipes
• Ensure all company health and safety standards are adhered to, and a safe working environment for all visitors/employee’s

The ideal candidate:

• Formal HACCP training
• 1-2 years of relevant experience • IT Skills - Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience of computerised specification/recipe systems
• Effective project and critical path management
• Effective communication and persuasion skills at all levels
• Analysis of verbal numerical and written information
• Self-motivated and highly organised
• Quality conscious
• Working knowledge of food manufacturing processes and equipment

Our Client is offering up to £33,000 per annum plus company benefits.
