A rapidly expanding successful group that encompasses all aspects of the meat trade is recruiting a Nightshift Manager to join our team at our site in Irlam, Manchester. Our business which is a Catering Butcher, has over 100 years experience in the meat and farming industries. All products are prepared in the factory daily each customer's specifications, packaged and labelled to and above legislation and then delivered direct thoughout the UK.

Our business supplies to customers including Hotels, Restaurants, Public Houses, the Education Sector, Outdoor events and food manufacturers. We also provide national distribution via our own fleet and transport partners.

The role of Nightshift Manager is the ensure the effective running of all aspects of the nightshift operations including Production, Packing, Poultry, OMU, Despatch and Transport.

The Main Responsibilities of the role are;

  • Ensuring the full order completion in line with critical time dispatches
  • Responsible for the night loading and trunking operation liaising with the Group Transport Manager

  • To meet KPI targets both agreed and set with the General manager and operations Director

  • To work with and deliver agreed budget targets for staff costs and head counts.

  • To manage and control all aspects of production work carried out on the night shift.

  • Management and control of Waste

  • To liaise with the Technical department

  • Manage Security and Safety of the site

  • To work on developing and improve the skill levels of all staff

  • To report to weekly management meetings on all aspects of the night shift operations performance

  • To oversee the night input clerks liaising directly with the Telesales Manager

  • To interact with our customers through telephone communications

  • To administrate Holiday shift patterns in accordance with Company Policy ensuring that all necessary cover is in place.

  • To liaise with HR regarding timekeeping, absences, complying with the Company Absence Procedure & Policy, Discipline and Grievance.

No formal qualifications are required for this role but the role may require further training to be undertaken at a later date.

You should have good communication skills and the ability to develop good working relationship with managers in other areas of the business, to deliver the common goals of the business in terms of profitability and provision of agreed service levels to customers.

You should have the willingness to embrace change, and develop people within your team.

You need to be able to work to tight deadlines and develop a strong commercial understanding of the business

The nature of the role requires a flexible approach to working hours.

Core working hours working 5 Nights from Sunday to Friday 20.00 to 06.00 (with one night off)
