Night Support Worker - Hackney - £9.60ph
An experienced Night Support Worker is required to work in Hackney for our client on a 2 months temporary contract which may be extended. Reporting to a Unit Manager you will assist in the provision of security and support to vulnerable adults.
What work is involved
The role would suit an enthusiastic, organised energetic person with experience of supporting service users in a hostel or residential setting by providing a concierge service, monitoring access to building.
This work will include:
Ensuring that the hostel is kept clean and safe and taking appropriate action to maintain the condition of the building, reporting hostel repairs.
Carrying out regular checks in the hostel, checking conditions of all communal areas.
Ensuring the hostel is secure by regular patrols and monitoring external doors and access in and out of the building
Carrying out resident room/flat checks as necessary.
Monitoring and reporting on the external environment, including local resident phone calls, and taking appropriate action
Spending time talking to the residents; supporting the key worker role with clients likely to be seen more at night.
Dealing with any disputes or emergencies and completing incident reports.
Dealing with telephone and general enquiries and any other general administrative duties.
Having an understanding of the needs of the client group and working in an understanding and flexible manner using assessment and evaluation skills.
To update paper and computerised systems and ensure all occurrences throughout the night are recorded.
You will be required have:
Min 2 years' experience as Support Worker and experience and willing to work at night.
NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care and experience of working with clients who have suffered from issues related to domestic violence. You will be based within a residential/hostel setting, so this type of experience would be at an advantage
This post is based on 4 nights on, 4 nights off from 8:00 to 6:30.
Pay is £9,60 per hour.
