Rate - £10.60 per hour

Hours -12am-8.30 am

Location - Chelsea

Type of role - Ad hoc temporary

Our client is a private members Club for artists in the heart of London. Established in 1891, the Club hosts painters, sculptors and architects, designers, photographers, film makers, poets, writers, dancers, actors and musicians amongst its 3,700 Members. The life of the Club centres around the Billiard Room, the Dining Room and the secluded garden. Drinks and food are served seven days a week, and there are twelve bedrooms which Members may book.

We are seeking someone who can work nights, can commute to Chelsea an who has reception or porter experience within hospitality, possibly working at a hotel and dealing with VIP clients.

The ideal candidate will also have an interest in the Arts as these VIP's stay on a regular basis and the reception staff are known to them.......

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision and security of the Club

-Conduct regular inspections of the building and communal areas, ensuring, as the Club Fire Marshal, that all fire precautions are in order and that emergency and fire escape routes are kept clear at all times, in pursuance of the members’ comfort and security.

-Have a full knowledge of emergency procedures, to include the use of the fire alarm panel, intruder alarm and all other security procedures.

-Be responsible for the highlighting and reporting to the Clubhouse Manager of any concerns about maintenance, health and safety, wear and tear or other issues that could potentially cause a hazard, or injury to staff, members or guests.

-Ensure that the Ladies Bar (if not occupied), Billiard Room and office are tidy at all times.

Assistance to members

-With Billiard Room staff, ensure all members have left the Club by 1 am, except for those who are staying overnight.

-Manage behaviour: the Club is a home from home for Members and how they behave is up to them, but the rule of the Club is that behaviour should not disturb others: neighbours, and Members in their sleep. So gently encourage folks to go home, and guests to go to bed or at least to keep the noise down.

-Always be aware of who is staying in the Club, particularly in the bedrooms.

-Use the front office as the main base while not on security rounds, so that Members know where to find you; so that you are by the alarm panel; and so that you can open the front door if needed.

-Be ready for and assist staying members and guests with individual requests as and when required. These will vary from providing spare bed linen to changing a light bulb in a bedroom, amongst other things.

-Be responsible for reporting Members’ feedback, incidents and complaints to the Clubhouse Manager.

Compliance

-Ensure that while you undertake your role, you abide by the Health and Safety at work Act 1974 and safe systems of work appropriate to your role.

-Attend as required all fire and health and safety training.

-Adhere to the Club policies in relation to first aid and accident reporting.
