NHS Blood and Transplant Tissue Bank Assistant Job, Liverpool, £9.40 per hour, 6 months.

You will be working for the NHS Blood and Transplant in Liverpool. The NHS are the largest not-for-profit organisation in the UK. You will be working in the Tissue and Eye Services part of NHS Blood and Transplant. The departments role is to co-ordinate, recover, process and supply human tissue grafts for use in surgery within the NHS and independent UK hospitals. Their goal is to improve and save the lives of many.
Your new role
You will be working specifically in the Eye Services department, preparing 'artificial tears' for patients with severe dry eye problems, which are prepared from their own blood. You will be transferring the artificial tears into individual labelled bottles. This role involves a month of training, in which your working hours will be 08:00 - 16:15. You will be working in a clean room environment with air pressure so you must not have claustrophobia or have any ear problems. Make up and jewellery is also prohibited. For this role you need to have a scientific background, have a strong attention to detail and have a passion for people.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed you need to have a minimum of A-Level science. Ideally a degree in a scientific related degree. You must have a desire for changing the lives of others and a strong attention to detail. You need to work professionally in a secure laboratory environment and be trusted to carry out life changing work. Additionally, the NHS need your full commitment for the entire duration of this 6 month contract.
