An interesting new role has arisen for an experienced finance manager to lend support and leadership to a key division of an acute trust while it goes through a period of reorganisation.
As Senior Finance Manager for one of the clinical divisions, you will be focused on delivering financial advice spanning cost improvements, commercial opportunities, business cases and service developments. As a result, you will be the key liaison point with finance for clinical and operational management teams, so will be likely to spend a good deal of time in a client facing capacity. While intimate understanding of the monthly figures is important, the team below you will be responsible for hitting the key reporting deadlines and delivering quality management information.
You should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with substantial post qualification experience of financial management in a NHS acute environment and will need to demonstrate the ability to add a new dimension to the financial management team. Strong communication skills are essential as you’ll need to rapidly develop effective working relationships in a fast paced environment.
