Are you currently undertaken a PGCE in Science and keen to secure a permanent placement for July or September as soon as possible?
Due to the ever demanding need for good quality graduate teachers especially within the core subject areas many Head teachers are looking to make earlier appointments this year and are keen to start interviewing with immediate effect. The aim of this is simply to ensure they attract the most talented NQT's currently training who will be undertaking their induction year from September 2017.
This Croydon located 11-18 so-educational school will have 2 vacant posts within the Science department come the summer and are interested in hearing from final year students with a passion for Science who are keen to join a vibrant and positive environment to kick start their teaching careers.
The school which was graded as a "Good" following its most recent Ofsted inspection in 2014 boasts an excellent community spirit and prides itself on delivering high academic standards to students across the age and ability range. As a Newly Qualified Teacher of Science the school can offer a comprehensive induction programme which will assist in ensuring a smooth first year's teaching, in addition you will have regular one to one meetings with the Subject Leader of Science and you will also be encouraged to share your ideas and discuss any points regarding your progress.
The Science department is made up of 5 Science teachers and you will be working within a fantastic and creative team. You will have access to a wide range of resources as will be made to very welcome from day one. Last year the school appointed 2 NQT'S both which are currently flourishing.
To be considered for this Newly Qualified of Science position you will need a related Science degree and be able to demonstrate the skills necessary to be a confident practitioner within the classrooms. There are around 1200 students on role and the school catchment area is the Croydon/Bromley boarders. As the school has a 6th form the Science department is happy to commit making sure the timetable does include A-level classes for those who express an interest in teaching at post 16 level.
