The Role: New Business Development Manager
The successful candidate will be responsible for securing Tier 1 retail accounts through the provision of services of company retail products.
The New Business Development Manager (NBDM) will be a proven new business specialist who has the confidence and gravitas to deal with high level contacts within target businesses, from 'C level’ level down to individual store staff when required. Building and managing strong relationships will be pivotal to succeeding in the role.
The position holder will actively identify New Business opportunities, establishing key contacts and decision makers within target client companies by enthusiastically using all appropriate means to gather the required information.
In addition the NBDM will secure new business meetings with key contacts and decision makers de developing opportunities to create and present commercial proposals of value to the client. It is crucial for the NBDM to be able to promote a value proposition, be a strong negotiator / objection handler and have a natural flair for closing deals.
Being able to effectively sell the 'value add’ that company can offer to target clients over and above direct competitors will be vital to winning new business, so the ability to think strategically is a major asset.
The NBDM must have the capability to oversee tendering processes (RFI/ RFP etc.) with potential new accounts and successfully negotiate new contract agreements.
The NBDM position is be closely aligned with various divisions of the business, the NBDM working closely with the Technology Team, Acquirer Manager and Company companies to propose the best solution to meet the target client’s needs.
o Delivery of agreed new business targets
o Delivery of account specific contractual obligations
o Development and ongoing management of a new business pipeline
o Work with the Company Technology team to create, deliver and roll out any POS or PSP developments or any other technology developments which are required
o Coordination of initial store staff training activities done by the Sell-Out field team within newly won accounts
o Manage the relationship with UK POS companies and work in conjunction with them to drive new business leads
o Work closely with the UK Acquirer Relationship Manager to help drive new business leads from their sales teams.
o Account contract negotiations and RFI/ RFP tenders
o Customer relationship management
o Accurate use the Company CRM system to capture opportunities, plan, record and report account specific activity
Background & Education: Required
o Genuine sales talent with proven strong results orientation, passion and determination to reach sales targets
o 2+ years’ proven experience working on New Business Development ideally within Retail Services, Acquiring or Payment Services.
o Proven new business Hunter who can demonstrate winning new business in Tier 1 retail accounts from a payments perspective.
o Strong written and spoken English
o University graduate preferred
