Do you live in the vicinity of the North Norfolk coast? Are you looking for a fulfilling role that involves putting the customer first? Well look no further.

The opportunity has arisen for a New Business Account Handler to join my clients’ well established and well respected insurance brokers.

Dealing with inbound calls only, you will provide a first class service to my clients’ new customers ensuring they get the right quote first time, supporting and developing their specialist insurance schemes.

Job Purpose:

Service to Clients

You will adhere to the processes set out by my clients compliance manual and in particular to;
Replying to correspondence promptly.
You will answer the telephone and action telephone, fax and e-mails promptly.
You will answer referrals produced from the online web trading facility, promptly.
You will document meetings promptly and take follow up action promptly or by an agreed date.
You will provide clients with an informative interim reply and/or an apology if the above specified time limits are not met for whatever reason.
You will ensure that all aspects of client interface are professional, friendly, speedy and accurate.

Account Handling

You will prepare new business documentation in a timely fashion and ensure it is accurate and reflects the clients’ needs.
You will deal with all documentation, invoices, credit notes, etc.
You will provide new business quotations for scheme business;
You will foster good relations with insurance companies;
You will ensure that our delegated authority under agency agreements is not exceeded;
You will operate an effective credit control system and report as required.


You will complete proposals and obtain other documentation within time set out in my clients new business procedures at the start of each new risk, and;
You will ensure that new business is placed in advance of expiry of previous cover;
You will issue invoices within 30 days of placing cover;
You will ensure that insurance company surveys (where required) are carried out within a reasonable time scale;
You will ensure any agreed risk improvements (where required) are carried out by the client within the time allocated;
You will report all new business through the authorised channel;
You will ensure that customers who have purchased policies online have received the correct
You will develop any existing smaller insurance accounts.
You will research additional markets and sales outlets which can be exploited by the company;
You will ensure ELTO information has been recorded.


You will attain, maintain and improve proficiency in the use of personal computers.
You will comply with employment conditions as set out in the Contract of Employment, Staff Handbook, Letter of Appointment and other ad-hoc instructions.
You will maintain an acceptable standard of attendance and punctuality.
You will make requests for holiday and notification of sick absence in accordance with Company policy.

Technical Knowledge

You will understand how the insurance market works; and to
You will show a thorough knowledge of all relevant products;
You will be familiar with the FCA regulations as they apply to retail and commercial clients particularly concerning Advising and Selling standards, Renewals, Product Disclosure, Cancellation, Claims Handling and Record Keeping.
You will understand where the Data Protection legislation affects the processes of this job;
You will undertake the relevant modules of Broker Assess with a view to maintaining competence in all classes of business covered under my clients products .
You will undertake two hours of structured training per month.

I. T. Systems and Internal Procedures.

You will be familiar with my clients IT Procedures, as per IT Procedure Manual.
You will have an extensive knowledge of and comply with all procedures set out in my clients compliance manual.


You will cover for other members of staff during absences, and especially to provide a prompt telephone response to incoming calls at all times.

You will foster good relations between departments within my clients Norfolk office, and between other locations offices.

You will undertake such additional tasks and training as may reasonably be required to develop your job.

Hours of work are 9 - 5, No weekend work, 20 days holiday entitlement per year.
