An exciting role as coming up within one of the country's leading independent secondary day school. There are approximately 760 pupils with a thriving sixth form.
Purpose of the job
·Provide senior level technical support for the school's data and voice services
·Assist in the management, monitoring and maintenance of the school's ICT network infrastructure
·Install new and upgraded ICT systems as required
·Ensure the integrity of the Schools ICT system is maintained
·The reliable provision of school ICT infrastructure
·Ensuring a resilient platform is available for school ICT systems, and fall-back systems are in place
·Resolving support issues
·Reports to the Network Infrastructure Manager
·Work closely with the Data and Information Systems Manager
·Will interact with the IT Support Team Leader to ensure ICT incidents are managed to resolution
·Develop proactive procedures to ensure the smooth running of ICT systems
·Provide technical advice in support of the resolution of ICT incidents
·Delegated management of the school's mobile contracts and mobile devices
·Work with the Network Infrastructure Manager to ensure escalated ICT issues are resolved
·Work with the Network Infrastructure Manager in implementing ICT systems
·Work with the Data & Information Systems Manager on supporting and operating the schools MIS
·Work with the Data & Information Systems Manager on creating reports for SMT and Teaching staff to ensure the best use of data being stored in the MIS
·Assisting with the setup of the school Portal.
·Assisting with showing best practice in the use of both the MIS and Portal to all staff.
·Document the setup and configuration of all school ICT systems and ensure operating procedures are in place
·Monitor and maintain ICT systems and undertake action to ensure consistent delivery of ICT services
·Manage ICT incidents to resolution in a structured way using a Service Desk tool
·Ensure ICT changes are managed in a structured way
·Advise on system enhancements and make recommendations for improvements or replacements
·Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to ensure a resolution of ICT incidents, as required.
·Support the deployment of school systems as required
·Provide training to staff and students along with guidance on the use of ICT systems and software
·Ensure robust data backup systems are in place and undertake periodic testing of the systems
·Assist in the design, implementation and management of a comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plan
·Assist in the selection, testing and acquisition of IT hardware, software and third-party application packages
·Ensure that SPGS policies are Implemented and systems are in place to monitor and manage compliance
·Ensure school policies and procedures are followed to maintain fully operational, robust and secure ICT systems.
·Be proactive in the pursuit of new training opportunities that could assist the running of the school
·Work flexibly as required in support of the duties of the role
·Provide backup for AV bookings if required
·Support the school implementation of BYOD and iOS device deployment
·Provide training to staff and students when needed
·Provide guidance and support to parents to assist access to online resources
Terms of employment
*The stated hours of work for this post are from 8.00am to 5.00pm. However, considerable flexibility with regards to this may be required given the nature of the role.
*Holiday to be taken during school holidays; 25 days per year plus Christmas closure
