Network Consulting Engineer (CCNA, CCNP, Routing, Switching) - GLOBAL MSP

My client are an international leading IT Technology and Services Provider specializing in digital infrastructure, hybrid cloud, workspaces and cybersecurity. They have come to me with a brand new requirement for a Network Consultant to support the business in achieving its strategic objectives.

The role of the Network Consultant is to design and implement technology based solutions which meet clients’ business requirements. Lead or contribute to the technical delivery of projects, ensuring compliance to client expectations.

What we expect you to do

  • Lead or contribute to the technical delivery of projects, that include Design, configuration and installation of technical solutions that meet client expectations
  • Create and maintain project related documentation, ensuring that accurate information is always available to other staff
  • Build and maintain technical relationships with clients to maximize opportunities within those clients
  • Provide technical pre-sales support to the account teams when required
  • Attend user groups, technical training and seminars to increase knowledge in relevant areas
  • Develop knowledge in a specific technology area, to become a trusted advisor in that field
  • Play a demonstrable role in identifying and winning incremental business

Here's what we are looking for in candidates applying for this job

  • CCNA / CCNP or Equivalent (Training Provided)
    • + demonstrable experience within a project implementation & support environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Cisco IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS
  • Experience in configuration and troubleshooting on the following topics:
    • Routing, Switching, Wireless, QoS, Multicast, BGP
  • Competency in Cisco and/or Aruba based Wireless solutions including; (Wireless can be taught, wireless not a big focus)
    • Security features such as ISE, 802.1x.
    • 802.11 standards and wireless best practices
    • Physical wireless placement planning and Ekahau site survey
    • Configure, maintain and upgrade Cisco Prime versions 2.0 through 3.1
  • Demonstrable communication and people skills, with an ability, capacity and skill to perceive, access and manage the emotions of one's self, of others, and of groups
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal, with an ability to explain complex concepts at all levels
  • Commercially astute and able to assist Service Delivery Management achieve agreed Service Level Agreements
  • Proven track record in working with groups of people and the ability to educate, enthuse, coach and mentor
