Your new company
You will be joining a rapid growth eCommerce company, part of a global organisation that are experts in acquiring businesses that align in similar markets. They are a hungry, dynamic and flexible group that are currently in talks regarding a merger which would double the size of the business again.

As part of this expansion they are seeking a full stack hands-on .Net developer to join their head office team. The role can be based in Godalming or can be a fully remote working position.

Your new role
You'll join the company as they come towards the end of their existing development support contract which concludes in July. You'll learn the systems and understand the legacy code that's in place, but moving forward it is carte blanche for the developer to choose tools/technologies for all new projects.

To reduce the amount of maintenance/legacy work they are happy for those systems to be rewritten using C#.

This role offers the opportunity to move into a position as a core asset to the business. You will be the sole development resource to begin with, reporting to the Group IT Director but realistic potential to be joined by a small team of developers later this year.

There will be real autonomy handed to the job holder but that means being accountable and answerable for decisions made. You must be confident running projects on your own and be excited about working in a fast-paced and ever changing environment without corporate structure guidelines.

The offices are located centrally with excellent transport links.

What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for candidates with a proven background in developing robust ASP.NET (C#) applications. This should be underwritten by fluency with the core HTML/CSS/JavaScript web stack and knowledge of .Net MVC/Web API/ Bootstrap, LESS/SASS and jQuery.

In the early stages the role will include legacy work, so you must be comfortable using Vb.Net / Winforms as well as the shiny new project work.

We're looking for a developer that adheres to modern coding practices and wants to help drive a business forward and be part of that journey. You'll need to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals at times.

What you'll get in return
You'll join a team where work life balance is not an abstract culture. There is a real outgoing/social feel to the team and they are often found on team building events. There's good holiday allowance and pension scheme, with a number of corporate benefits despite them retaining a family feel to the business.
