Neonatal Ward Clerk - Walnut Ward

Part time –20 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and forward thinking individual to join our multi professional team as a Neonatal Ward Clerk within the paediatric department.

Walnut Ward (Special Care Baby Unit) is a 22 bedded neonatal ward.

We are looking for exceptional candidates who can provide administrative and clerical service on Walnut, in order to support the nursing, medical and multi disciplinary team. You will be responsible for the organisation of administration and clerical function on the ward. You will need to have knowledge of, and experience of, an acute healthcare environment. Also essential is knowledge and experience of working with healthcare IT systems, along with excellent IT skills.

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team and you will be supported by that team and the Neonatal Ward Administrator.  

You will need to be educated to NVQ level 2 or have equivalent experience, in an acute healthcare environment. Experience in a customer care/reception environment is also essential.

This post, alongside the existing Neonatal Ward Administrator will provide 7 day administrative and clerical cover to the neonatal unit. Therefore you will need to be prepared to be flexible in the shift pattern that you work in order to provide robust cover at times of sickness and other leave.

Current hours involve working alternate weeks of Tuesday, Thursday, Friday then Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday the following week although there may be some flexibility with this.
