Nigel Wright have been appointed to support a key client with the recruitment of a P + L responsible national business development manager. Our client operates in the engineering sector and this is a newly created position to drive business growth within their bespoke solution based division where they provide a range of services including welding and fabrication solutions to a variety of industries.
The position will provide the right individual the opportunity to drive their own job description and will have a national business development remit. You will map out the target marketplace and will identify, approach and build relationships with key decision makers within prospective client organisations with a view to generating new business opportunities. The role will be autonomous and you will grow the business unit with full P + L responsibility, reporting into the managing director.
The role will require you to have technical engineering discussions with prospective clients to assess whether the organisation has the capacity to support their requirements. These discussions will enable you to provide consultative recommendations rather than simply responding to client requests / orders.
- A track record of growing new business within a solution based engineering environment (preferably with experience within the fabrication sector)
- A technical engineering employment or academic background prior to moving into a commercial / sales / business development environment is essential.
- You will be North East based and will be comfortable undertaking national travel on an ongoing basis as part of the role.
- You will have strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
