Job Title: National Bird Control Specialist Mate (Pest Control)
Location: Looking for someone based anywhere in-between Newcastle and Leeds - but role will involve national travel
Salary: £23,553 + van, pension, mobile phone, ipad, uniform, 33 days’ holiday a year (including bank holidays)
Full Time and Permanent - National Travel and on average staying away from home 4 nights a week
My client is a major UK Facilities Management Company called 'City Facilities Management’ they employ over 12,000 people with an impressive client base, which includes the long term national FM contract with 'ASDA’.
They are now looking to recruit a National Bird Control Specialist Mate (Assistant) who will work purely on the ASDA Contract.
Role will involve daily and national travel and candidates must be prepared to be away from home on average 4 nights a week, all accommodation costs will be covered.
Our client is looking for someone based in between Newcastle and Leeds as you will be working alongside a Bird Control Specialist and they need the Bird Control Specialist Mate to not live too far away from the Bird Control Specialist.
To help and aid the national bird specialist carry out treatments and other work in order to control and restrict pest birds as specified in their clients contract. To carry out treatments and service pest proofing equipment so as to maintain continuing control of the pests covered throughout the ASDA stores or distribution centres. To identify any instances where the pest bird control is incomplete or inadequate by virtue of actual or risk of infestation and advise the manager on site accordingly. To work alongside, assist, aid and report directly to National Bird specialist on all jobs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect ASDA stores thoroughly for any signs of pest bird activity
Whenever you find other pests, proofing requirements, or additional pest control needs, report these to the customer verbally and in your treatment report.
Fly the Harris Hawks & Falcons at previously agreed stores by the Line Manager or equivalent to store in consideration.
Ensure all legislative Laws are adhered to in the controlling of the pest bird activity
Be responsible for the birds well-being and upkeep to the highest of standards
Carry out all other forms of bird control including trapping, bird scaring, controlled shooting, flying kites, implementing / repairing various forms of proofing and mist netting.
Interest in Birds of Prey / Pest Control
Able to travel nationally and able to spend nights away (on average 4 nights a week)
Experience of carrying out maintenance and using tools
Basic Health & Safety knowledge
Flexible working hours to accommodate customers’ requirements
Strong communicator, excellent customer service skills
Candidates must have a full and valid driving licence
In house training will be provided for the successful candidate.
