Music Teacher

Easter start, full time, paid to scale, 1 term minimum, possible extension into next academic year.

Hays Education are very proud to be working on behalf of an Ofsted 'Good' North Birmingham secondary school to recruit for a Music teacher to start from Easter 2018. This is a full time teaching role across KS3 and KS4 and may extend into next Academic year. Experienced NQTs are welcome to apply.

Your new school
As a small school with strong community values they know and care for every pupil as an individual. All local pupils are welcome in this school. This term they are developing new partnerships with a local care home for the elderly and Trident Reach the People Charity alongside well established links with a local Food Bank. Charity work raises over £6000 every year. A pupil pilot group has started planning their route through the UNICEF Rights and Respecting Responsibilities Mark. In academic studies there are personalised pathways in learning to meet the needs of individuals and groups of pupils. Lessons use a blend of modern technology, traditional teaching and individual support in every area of the curriculum. We understand from our self-evaluation that differentiation and challenge in lessons is of paramount importance to rates of individual pupil progress. The quality of marking, feedback, pupil response and homework support the pace of learning - these areas have been and continue to be areas of focus for the school. Pupils, Families, Staff and Governors work together in consultation to help every pupil make better than expected progress.

Your new role
In your new secondary teaching job you will be expected to plan interesting and challenging Music lessons that will engage pupils and you will have the natural ability to deliver them with confidence and enthusiasm. You will need to be experienced teaching up to KS4 and be familiar with the current curriculum. Due to the nature of the role it is offered as a 'paid to scale' post (MPS/UPS).

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your new teaching job you will have completed your studies and hold UK QTS. You will be an experienced Music teacher that is passionate about student progress and is committed to helping pupils to achieve their academic potential. The ideal candidate would have been in a long term or permanent teaching role and will be able to supply Hays with outstanding references from the previous employer.
