Multi Skilled Carpenter

The Role

Due to rapid growth and continuous success here at Fortem, we are delighted to confirm that we are currently recruiting for two Multi Skilled Carpenter's to join our repairs team, on a three month fixed term contract, at our Birmingham branch. This role is based in the West Midlands covering South Birmingham.

The role involves carrying out Carpentry maintenance to properties, ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of Supervision. A Multi-skilled Carpenter would also ideally be able to cover most aspects of property maintenance, to enable you to complete all parts of a job rather than just your core trade. Experience is essential and you will take ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs, whilst remaining within budget and time parameters. You will operate within company Health and Safety guidelines and remain up to date with technical and legal requirements of your skill areas.

The Project

Our Birmingham Branch covers the whole of South Birmingham. The branch employs roughly 270 people providing repairs, maintenance and refurbishments to over 26,000 homes per year.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

Essential Criteria:

C&G Craft/Advanced Craft

Certificate in Carpentry & Joinery or

NVQ 2 in Carpentry & Joinery/Wood Occupations or the equivalent

Full UK Driving License

Desirable Qualifications:

CSCS H&S Operative Test

Certificate + CSCS Blue Card

Past experience in a Responsive repairs role
