OBAN, LORN & ISLANDS
£33,222 - £43,471
This post represents an exciting opportunity to help develop an innovative, high profile First Contact Practitioner MSK service in the Oban area, part of the Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership. This exciting and pioneering career opportunity offers the right candidate the chance to help design and deliver a new service providing highly effective, high quality physiotherapy assessment and intervention as the first point of contact for patients presenting with MSK problems.
Working as part of a team of experienced and highly qualified advanced physiotherapy practitioners with support from a team and professional lead, the right candidate will be able to demonstrate the requisite skills for developing and delivering a new MSK triage and treatment service for people presenting with a wide range of musculoskeletal problems in primary care. The role will allow the right candidate to retain a mainly clinical role delivering MSK services as part of the APP team whilst also being part of the existing mainstream physiotherapy out-patient service. Supervising and developing other members of the physiotherapy service will be vital to the role.
To succeed in this exciting and challenging post you will have a degree or equivalent qualification as a physiotherapist, be HCPC registered and demonstrate extensive evidence of postgraduate learning to a masters level or equivalent in an MSK related field. You will have significant experience and understanding of musculoskeletal services including leadership and service change and development and you will be aware of regional and national strategy around MSK services and have well honed communication and negotiation skills.
Existing qualifications or the ability to rapidly access and complete suitable training for injection therapy, non medical prescribing, ordering and interpreting diagnostic imaging and blood testing will be vital for fulfilling the clinical element of the role.
In return we can offer a remuneration package at Band 7 (£33,222 - £43,471 dependent on experience) along with the chance to develop and deliver one of the first ever region wide First Contact Practitioner services in one of the most stunning locations within the UK. The base location is Oban and a generous relocation package may be negotiated for the right candidate.
Oban sits on the West Coast of Scotland, an area of outstanding natural beauty yet close to cosmopolitan cities such as Glasgow and Edinburgh. Known as the gateway to the Islands, Oban offers a dream lifestyle; Argyll has over 3,500km of stunning coastline and is home to many inhabited and uninhabited islands. The opportunities to enjoy a healthy outdoor lifestyle in the Oban area are almost endless and our family orientated communities and excellent schools offer a great place to bring up children.
