JOB SUMMARY:

To underwrite mortgage applications.

To manage pipeline of mortgage applications from receipt of a DIP through to offer.

To assist the Completion Team with post offer queries.

To follow the defined business process within the scope of the role.

To ensure a first class service is delivered that both contributes to the overall performance of the business, whilst meeting all best practice and regulatory requirements.

Maintain an excellent level of quality in all tasks undertaken.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Underwrite applications from DIP through to Completion of the loan adhering to specified company criteria as detailed within the Underwriting Manual.

Use assigned mandate to make sound lending decisions.

Make decisions and recommend appropriate action on applications outside of specified company criteria.

To actively manage Alerts, assigned activities and a pipeline of cases.

To follow defined business process, policy and procedures and ensure a consistent quality of all work undertaken.

Build relationships with the Processing Team and the externalBusiness Development Team.

To work as part of the Lending team, ensuring that all activities required within the Underwriting team are completed as required and assist colleagues where business volumes dictate.

To maintain all regulatory requirements, including Data Protection, Anti Money Laundering and Treating Customers Fairly and keep yourself up to date with the current regulatory landscape

To following the company Complaints process where appropriate.

To work on ad hoc projects as assigned by line manager.

Identify areas for process improvement and escalate to line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Financial services background, including new lending mortgage experience.

Experience of holding a mandated position within a mortgage Lender.

Experience of manually underwriting mortgage applications.

Experience of managing mortgage applications from inception through to completion.

Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills.

Experience of working with an Intermediary led business.

Experience in managing own workload and bring flexible where required in the approach to day to day activities.

Experience of maximising personal productivity by achieved and exceeding individual performance targets.
