Mortgage Case Manager



Salary £24 - £26k (depending on experience) + company pension and bonus scheme (OTE £30k)

The role:

This new role offers you the opportunity to work for a progressive and forward-thinking specialist mortgage lender that distributes via the financial intermediary channel in a market sector that is currently undergoing phenomenal growth. Following the lender's recent business growth this exciting role has been created to expand the existing mortgage processing team. It takes on responsibility for processing and managing new mortgage enquiries and applications and offers the successful candidate the chance to join a growing business and benefit from the opportunities that this brings.

A pre-requisite for the role is that candidates have excellent administration, computer literacy and telephone communication skills along with an ability to work well under pressure. Ideally as a Mortgage Case Manager you will have knowledge and experience of the mortgage application process in the UK regulated mortgage environment.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Deliver a first class proactive customer service, particularly through inbound and outbound communication by telephone, as well as by email and letter to all case stakeholders including introducers, service suppliers, reference providers and occasionally applicants
  • To input and process new business enquiries, which can sometimes be quite complex, to pre-defined standards and service level agreements ready for underwriter approval
  • To input and process multiple applications for first charge mortgages to pre-defined standards and service level agreements from initial receipt through to completion
  • Ensuring a high level of accuracy for data entry and ongoing record keeping
  • Supporting the underwriting team and peer group in delivering an excellent, compliant service and a prompt and accurate decision at each stage of the process

Experience Required:

  • A good understanding of the mortgage process for first charge mortgages
  • Knowledge of working under pressure - a 'can do' attitude
  • A really good telephone manner to deal with intermediary queries and other third parties associated with the thorough processing of mortgage applications
  • Record/file management experience
  • Excellent time management
  • Experience of working in a team
  • Ideally some CeMAP qualification
