Monitoring Support Officer - Birmingham
Becoming a Monitoring Support Officer with Electronic Monitoring Services:
Capita's Electronic Monitoring Service (EMS) is currently looking to recruit a number of Monitoring Support Officers to support their Field team in Birmingham. This is a part time, 6 month fixed term contract, working between 16 and 30 hours per week.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a role, which requires regular and continuous travel during your shift. You will be picked up at the start of your shift and dropped off at the end having spent you shift accompanying a Field Monitoring Officer as they carry out their duties.
We are responsible for installing and decommissioning electronic monitoring equipment in the homes of those subject to an electronically monitored curfew. Our business operates 24 hours per day, 365 days a year and you will be expected to work a range of evening shifts, including weekends, and bank holidays on a rotating roster pattern.
This is a frontline role which will require you to enter the homes of those on curfew alongside a colleague, with the purpose of installing and calibrating monitoring equipment, so that the person on curfew can be detected within the boundaries of their property.
What you will do:
- Accompany the Field Monitoring Officer as they install and decommission curfew equipment in subject homes during their curfew hours
- Clean equipment and quarantine equipment which needs to be held for evidence
- Complete paperwork in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring legibility of any written reports
- Ensure all standard operational procedures are adhered to and contract compliance is maintained at all times
- Attend court as required (please note this is rare and may not be required)
- Ad-hoc duties as directed by your line manager
- Attend team meetings and meetings with your line manager
Your ideal experience will include:
- Experience of working in a customer facing role
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent standard of verbal and written English
- Able to work flexibly on a shift rota basis
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Full UK Driving Licence
- The flexibility to travel within shift hours
- Basic I.T skills internet, emails
- Excellent communication skills
