The Mobile Theatre Practitioner will be responsible for delivering patient care on Mobile facilities on behalf of a host hospital. They will have current experience within at least 2 of the main areas of work, anaesthetics, surgical scrub, recovery and endoscopy.
Responsibilities for the theatre practitioner will include maintaining a safe and efficient working environment at all times, and ensuring that a high standard of expertise and professionalism is maintained in all clinical activities. This will be done through the rigorous and consistent application of Company and host hospital policies and procedures.
The post holder may be required to work as part of a team, as the sole representative in a host hospital team or a unit facilitator.
The post requires flexibility as it involves considerable travel including nights away from home.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
A professional qualification as either a Registered Nurse or an Operating Department Practitioner
Excellent communication skills
The ability to act as an Ambassador.
A thorough understanding of the unit’s systems.
Appropriate operating theatre department experience of at least 3 years
Holder of a current full driving licence
KEY RESULT AREAS:
To participate, together with other team members in the cleaning of the unit
Demonstrate knowledge of the units including daily, weekly and monthly checks
Responsibility for ensuring that the unit remains operational by making sure that all equipment and unit systems are functioning properly and that the environment is safe and clean
Responsible for reporting untoward incidents where appropriate
Develop clinical practice by sharing knowledge with co-professionals and participate in the clinical audit process
Develop and maintain good communication and relationships with all colleagues and all staff at host sites
To ensure that CPD is annually kept up to date in line with National Guidelines
To be the representative of the company on a day to day basis with the host hospital
Needs to be willing to learn complimentary skills to include endoscopy and ward nursing
To work within an Endoscopy or ward environment when required.
