Midweight Beauty Designer - £32k - Retail - SW London
Product & Packaging:
Consistently deliver a strong portfolio of innovative and commercial beauty packaging design solutions for both core and MTO globally which meet the needs of the business and customers.
Display commercial awareness and knowledge of competitors. Analyse the market for product development and design opportunities which can be presented to Head of Creative, Creative Manager, Head of Product Development and Product Managers, influencing own design work and that of the wider team.
Keen interest and knowledge in design and industry trends with an ability to translate this into innovative and commercial beauty-led packaging.
Work closely with the Product Developers to develop products, packaging and branding that fits the brief, meets business needs and exceeds customer expectations. Confidently making decisions on prioritising workloads without prompting to ensure product is delivered on time.
A team player, inspiring others across the whole Product Development department and beyond to think laterally and creatively by facilitating ideation sessions and forums to generate new ideas.
People & Process:
Art direct and coach the Designer/s driving a culture of innovation and creative excellence. Work closely with the Head of Creative and Creative Manager to give commercial design direction to Designers on Core and Bespoke projects.
Manage the workload and day to day development of the Beauty Design Intern with regular 1-2-1s, setting clear objectives and targets, feeding back to the Creative Manager.
Work with the Creative Manager and Head of Creative to manage the workload and workflow of in-house and external designers from initial briefing to timely delivery of artworks for production samples.
Full understanding of the critical path and key dates. Work closely with the Head of Creative, Head of Product Development and Head of Technical to ensure all departments are adhering to the critical path and working on the same business priorities.
Work with the in-house compliance team to ensure all requirements are met and packaging meets all needs legally.
Marketing & Branding:
A brand ambassador, work closely with the Beauty Product Developers and Head of Creative to develop consistent product range brand guidelines which reflect and enhance the values of each product range. Deliver exceptional marketing and branding solutions across all platforms globally.
Own all beauty marketing briefs delegating where appropriate across the Beauty Design Team, ensuring successful and timely delivery and consistency in brand message.
