Mental Health Support Worker

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT WORKERS needed in the South West Yorkshire area for an immediate start pending compliance checks. Previous experience of working within Mental Health is preferred and experience supporting clients who display verbal and / or physical aggression is essential. The role is ward based within a hospital environment and candidates will work under the supervision and direction of Registered Nurses. The role will include, observing and supporting clients with profound Mental Health, recording behaviours and following escalation protocols in the event of volatile or aggressive behaviour. Management of violence and aggression will encompass part of the role. Full mandatory training is provided alongside a further 3 day client specific course incorporating de-escalation, breakaway techniques and restraint holds.

Variety of shifts available with 7am-8pm long days, 7pm-8am night shifts with some shorter shifts - 7am-3pm (Morning), 1.30pm-9.30pm (Afternoon) 4.30pm-10.30pm (Twilight) but predominantly long shifts (Days or Nights). Pay rates range from £7.94-£14.92 with the potential for enhancements.

Any offer of employment is pending an enhanced DBS check. The cost of a new DBS is to be met by the candidate, unless they hold an existing check registered on the update service, in which case there is no cost.
