Mental Health Support Worker Woking Education and Training - Mental Health Support Worker Woking - Focus on Restorative and holistic practices in this specialist provision for male students, aged 9-16.

This role is incredibly diverse, you will be working with a range of students who have a range of autism and academic ability. Having the ability to form relationships is absolutely key.

Ideal role for an Aspiring Clinical, Education or Forensic, Psychologist. Roles will also appeal to psychology graduates interested in Social, Youth and Criminal Justice. Looking at the Socio- Economic, class, race and faith factors that affect mental health and the approaches to mental health, is a crucial area.

This Graduate Mental Health LSA role in a specialist SEMH school for boys aged 9-16 that have excluded from their mainstream education. There will be a plethora of reasons why each boy is in the school, they will have suffered different traumas and all different contexts. It's a case of forming relationships with the boys, over time. There are no quick fixes here, if you have a utopian idea of being able to 'save' every student, you will not succeed. You may help plant ideas that you will not see the full, positive effects or end results from, know that they are there and will happen.

Sincerity is vital, you must know why you want to work with the boys. If you have had previous personal, family experience or support work experience as a graduate, this will give you a solid foundation.

Many of the students will be very dynamic with unique personalities, discovering their sexualities and starting to form opinions on a range of subjects. Safeguarding and pragmatism are critical in such a role.
