An exciting opportunity has arisen for permanent Mental Health Employment Advisor to join Making Space, a not-for-profit care provider based at Staffordshire Business Park, Stafford. In return we offer a competitive salary of £9.14 - £9.90 per hour. The hourly rate is dependant on achieving targets.

We require a motivated individual to assist people who are experiencing mental ill health to improve their quality of life by working to the Individual, Placement and Support model (IPS). You will be enabling individuals to gain and retain paid employment in the open competitive market. You will also identify work placements and paid employment opportunities with employers. This will increase people’s confidence and skills and promotes social inclusion and independence.

You will be required to travel primarily throughout the Stafford and Moorlands area in order to meet the needs of the service, therefore an own mode of transport will be essential and a mileage allowance will be paid. You may also be asked to travel to other areas. You will have experience of working with people with mental ill health and/or working in the community.

The post holder must be an effective communicator and listener and will demonstrate the 'Six Cs’ - care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment and will be supported to undertake a Diploma Level III in Health and Social Care. We welcome applications from people with personal experience.

Working hours are 37 hours per week.
